Welcome to Woodruff High School, home of the District 150 Technology Academy!
Since opening our doors in 1937, we have had a long standing reputation for providing outstanding academic and extracurricular opportunities for our students in a safe and caring “family” environment and that tradition continues today.
Our campus is situated on over 19 acres of beautiful park-like grounds with a multitude of outstanding athletic and arts facilities including an auditorium, Olympic-sized pool, baseball field, softball field, soccer field, running track, football field, weight room, wrestling room, and two gymnasiums. Along with computers in every classroom, eight large computer labs are located throughout our building and include our cutting edge Technology Academy complex, all-school Technology Center, Project Lead The Way Engineering lab, and unique Dual Credit Graphics Design Mac lab.
Along with our varied and challenging academic offerings, Woodruff provides a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities designed to enhance student leadership and involvement in school. With 19 different sports programs and more than 15 academic, music, Navy JROTC, and club activities, Woodruff has something for everyone and each student is encouraged to BAPOW (Be A Part Of Woodruff) in every way possible…both in and out of the classroom. We expect our students to make a personal commitment to achieving their educational goals and to attend school every day, on time, with a positive attitude, prepared to do their very best….and they do! Our attendance, graduation, and achievement rates continue to demonstrate significant increases each year and we look forward to another year of positive growth and improvement for the “Pride of the North Side.”
Woodruff is fortunate to have a strong and passionate faculty dedicated to meeting our students’ individual learning needs and to serve as host for the first secondary-level Professional Development School in Illinois. Through our unique partnership with Illinois State University, our students have the benefit of year-long assistance and support from college interns learning and working side by side with our professional educators…a true win-win situation for us all.
During the school year, please check this website often to be informed of all activities that occur here at Woodruff High School.. We will post pertinent dates such as holidays, early dismissals, progress report dates, report card dates, sport events and some surprises. We also send newsletters and updates to keep you informed of the many events that take place throughout the year.
